Italy, twice — 44 seats in six days

When the Italian Vistas tour sold out almost overnight, a second departure was added. Here's how two groups saw Italy in one autumn.

On April 10, 2024, the newsletter announced a new tour: Italian Vistas, for October 2025. What happened next surprised everyone.

“Surprisingly, within 6 days, all 44 seats were booked!”

With people still hoping for a place, Collette agreed to something unusual — a second departure. Italy had “garnered so much interest” that it became, in Mary’s words, “an exceptional occurrence.”

Group 1 — October 2025

The first group came home with a caption that summed it up: “Awesome Country!”

Group 2 — October 20 to November 1, 2025

The second group followed just days later: “Amazing Sites!”

The itinerary

Both groups traveled the length of the country on a Level 3, on-the-go itinerary:

  • Rome and the Colosseum
  • Pompeii and Sorrento
  • Florence, Pisa and a Tuscan winery
  • Venice and the glassmakers of Murano
  • Verona, Lake Maggiore and Stresa

Not the last time

Italy set a pattern. The 2026 Pacific Northwest tour and the 2027 Shades of Ireland tour both filled up and added second departures — and the 2027 Rhine & Moselle river cruise claimed its first 40 cabins in 24 hours. The lesson? When a trip you love is announced, don’t wait!
