Ten days among 2,500-year-old ruins, cliff-top monasteries and thousand-year-old olive trees.

From November 4 to 13, 2021, just months into the new business, a group set off on a ten-day Classical Greece tour. The verdict afterward was simple: “This 10 day ‘Classical Greece’ Tour in November was amazing!”

Standing in history

It’s one thing to read about ruins that are more than 2,500 years old — it’s another to stand among them and marvel that they’ve survived at all. The group explored the Parthenon, ancient temples and museums, and walked into the first Olympic Stadium.

Meteora

The highlight for many was Meteora, where 600-year-old monasteries perch on pillars of rock some 900 feet in the air. It’s the kind of view that stops conversation.

“God’s creation is beautiful!”

Olive groves — and cats

Between the big sights were quieter wonders: olive groves with trees a thousand years old. And, as Mary noted with a laugh, there were “a lot of healthy wild cats that roam the entire country (Ha-Ha!).”

Her advice to anyone on the fence? Some of the best trips are the ones that aren’t on your bucket list — yet.

Greece again

Greece is back on the horizon: a Greece Island Hopper is planned for September 2028.
